What is customer portal?

Customer portal is a tool that is useful for customers if they need to check their current subscription status, as well as for checking previous transactions that took place with this WiFi site.

Customers can also get a better insight into the status of the device that are connected to the network. As they can see which devices are connected, how many data they've used, and how long they've been connected.

It is also used for whitelisting devices that need to bypass a captive portal, since they don't have a built in browser (Smart TVs, Roku, Routers, etc.).

Link to customer portal can be found in a few ways.

Link is sent to the customer in an email the first time they purchase a package. Name of the email should be something like Site Name WiFi login details (replace Site Name with the name of your WiFi site). E-mail should look like this.

How to set session time for a Guest

This method is valid only for Social logins ie Login with Facebook, Email, Phone or Clickthrough

Session time is the amount of time a Guest is given internet access after login.

The landing page is not shown to the guest for the duration of a session, even if he disconnects and connects.

To change the value, go to Settings -> Login Config and click on the login type you like to change.

Session time can be set in the Fair Usage Limit section.

Set a time in minutes here, Please note that Restrict Sessions is set to No Limit, this means guests will be able to re-login after the session expires.

Click Save to apply changes.

Enter a name for the location and click on Save.

How to enable reverse tunnel

If your UniFi controller/ Cloud Key/ UDM/ UDR does not have a public IP you, you won't be able to use an external portal solution like Spotipo. However we now have a reverse tunnel solution that will help you in such situation.

The solution works by creating a reverse SSH tunnel from your controller to our server, so that we can access your controller.

Enable SSH access on your UDM/CK/UDR

If you are using a software controller, ie UniFi controller running on a server, skip this.

Make sure to login to your device by going to https://, and navigate to Console Settings.

Enable Remote Access and SSH, use the Change Password option to set a password.

SSH into your controller

Using your favorite SSH terminal, log in to the UniFi controller. If you got a CK/UDM/UDR etc use root as username and the password you set above.

Install autoSSH

We will use autossh to keep the connection active, install the same using below command after logging into the controller.

Get the direct URL to your Server

Login to your UniFi Cloud controller and use the Copy Inform URL option to get the INFORM URL for your APs.

It will look something like http://xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxx.unifi-hosting.ui.com:8080/inform

Hostname part of the URL would be your server address! In this case xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxx.unifi-hosting.ui.com
